My heater core in my 89 camaro is bad and I was wondering what the best way to install a new one is (what all I need to take out?). Any advice would be appreciated.

Thank you

You'll need to pull the dash pad off, pull the dash back quite a bit, remove the lower plastic cover under the dash, and get in there and remove a few screws that hold the core straps to the heater core housing. It's pretty much a pain in the ass. Just be patient and make sure you got all the screws out before you start yanking on it, and you'll get it out. Getting the new one in is even more fun. Good luck.

You don't need to pull the dashpad or the dash itself. You just need to drop the passenger side kick panel and remove 6-8 screws from the plenum box lidwith a 9/32 socket. Remove the lid then 4 screws that secure the core in the plenum box. Take the hoses loose in the engine bay and then pull the core out from under the dash. All in all the core change takes 2-3 hours.
