2000 Buick whining noise at high speed

A loud whining sound starts when the speed is 70mph. It disappears when the speed is lowered to 60mph.

Try running on the highway with other cars and when the noise starts get behind another car and see if the noise changes,this will let you know if its wind noise and not a mechanical problem,good luck.

Thanks for the tip regarding my 2000 Buick LeSabre whining sound. I have had new spark plugs and wires installed. I will try getting behind a big truck the next time on the Interstate and see what happens to the sound. Thanks again!!!!

I also have a loud whinning noise when I drive. I found that the problem was my bratty kid in the back seat.
