Service Engine Soon Light

Recently the SES light on my alero started to come on once in a while. I hooked up my code reader and no DTC codes were present. After a few days the light went out. Today the light came back on and other symptoms arose as well. The Heater/AC blower does not work, the power windows do not work, and the door locks are not functioning properly. One really noticeable thing is that when you start the vehicle, none of the gages or lights come on until the vehicle is running for 5-10 seconds. After about 5-10 seconds, all of the bells and gages come on. The car runs fine except for the items listed above. I checked for codes again, none present.

Dealership can read the code. Sorry!

Took the car to the dealer, they replaced the ignition switch (22670487).

All seems to be working fine now.

Also turns out it was the service vehicle light not the service engine light.

This was on a 2000 alero with the four cylinder engine.

If anyone has the symptoms listed on the original post, you may want to replace the ignition switch.
