short answer is yeah.

The real question is, why would you want a 15" sub?

To fix rattles.

Yeah it would fit.
If your willing to give up your WHOLE truck you could easly fit 2 15's but that would take some custom fiberglass work.

or 2 12"?

Personaly i would go with 2 10's.. like JL
They will provide you with fast, hard hitting bass.
and still give you great sound quality.

It really depends on what kind of music you're going to be playing... About all a 15 is good for is low bass. It'd sound like shit if you tried to listen to anything punchy like rock...

i have a 15"mtx thunder4000 in the trunk of my sedan.. and i listen to rock. it sounds good to me... you do have to put quality speakers in your stock locations or it will sound crappy but if ya know what your doing and follow the specs of your sub and set your amp gains correctly you should have no sound quality issues.. unless your looking into going to sq soundoffs then multiple smaller woofers would be better

You could put a 15 in the trunk, it would take up all the space, but who needs it. I would go 2 MTX 12's. I'm a big fan of the MTX subs for how deep they sound. But that is my own opinion. Also what helps on sound quality is having a sub output on your head unit.

and a deck with a high preout level
i would go with JLs one of there 12w6-v2 should hit as hard as 2 normal 12s
i got 3 tens (w6) in my hatch and i pick up high bass all the way down to 30 hz

Ive got one 10" sub , it sounds pretty damn good in the back of a hatch. but i listen to mostly rock. A 15 would take up alot of trunk space, but if set up right would sound pretty damn good in a trunk...

Ohh man... The best 15's there are, are the Kicker L7 solobaric subs. Ohh man, i have one of those, they hit so hard. Go with that if you get a 15, nothin but the best.

Well I have 4-15" subs and they are really tight for 15". It all depends on what you are looking for. You get what you pay for. If you are going for spl you will sacrifice sq and vic versa. Last comp I went into I actually won for sq. Pretty hard to do with a sub wall... http://images.cardomain.com/installs/154000-154999/154210_5.jpg

No offense but all the 15"s I have heard have no clarity and no distinct punch... They produce enormous amounts of bass but without the punch it tends to sound distorted. My friend has a 15" Audiobahn sub in the back of his car power by a very expensive amp... He has had MTX 15" and JBL or Rockford fosgate (I can't remember the first one) they are very loud but I would rather hear bass that isn't as deep with a punch than a very deep bass with almost no punch..... id go with 10s, maybe 12s but id rather have a component system than speakers and subs.

Heheheh, Well as I can see a lot of you seem to like the 15's. I set my system up with all bosoton speakers, and I listen to rock. So when it came to subs I went with MB acoustics, they make stage equipment for bands so I figured they have to make a good sub, turns out they make a damn awesome sub. I have two 8's yes two 8's which will handle 500 watts max each. Currently they are on a 200 watt profile amp but I just purchased a 400 watt MB acoustics amp and they kick ass. I can turn my stereo all the way up without any distortion and about halfway up you can feel the bass in the seat, and if I'm listening to rap all I have to do is turn the bass boost on at the head unit and they hit pretty damn hard, not like 12's or anything but i'd say equal to most 10's if not better. I say go with 10's at the most, anything else should be left for spl competition. If you do get a fifiteen go with a ported box or a bandpass box, sealed boxes suck ass, unless they're huge. Or spend a little time and build some custom boxes, that's what I did and I only lost a foot of cargo room on either side of the hatch.

i have 2 10's and i am damn ahppy b/c they are crisp but can get loud also it's all about what your lookign for my friend ahs 2 kciker L5 12' in his truck and it's loud as hell so i dont know about 15's and if it's worth it.

I have a single JL 12W6 in my car now... and it puts out A LOT of bass... but I'm about to add a CDT mini-box 8" sub to add some more clarity to my sound.
As was said earlier... no 15" I've heard have really good defined bass... they are all very loud, yes... but most of what I hear is just distorted noise... but then it still depends on what kind of music you listen to.

i hear that! it's not about what you have...it's about how you run it. too much or too little will kill any system.

i only have MTX Thunder 500 D amp & MTX Thunder 8000 12" sub and my car had a spl of 138.1 at last db drag. :ylsuper i'm sure it will break 140 because i had a sony explode radio :bloated: :toothless. i know, it was lame...i was "inbetween decks" at the time.

I had 2 12" JL audio W0 in the back of mine hooked up to a planet audio 120 watt amp hitting 140.8. My friend now has my crappy jensen 300 watt amp hooked up to 2 10" MTX 4000 and it hits hard, don't know what db he just got it hooked up. he don't even got the amp running as loud as it can. He has both subs running off both channels, i had them both bridged when i had the amp in my car.

Well, i dont think that 15's dont give good bass, my friend has 2 15's and they hit great. I personally like my 2 12" subs! i have two Polk Momo 12" subs and a Rockford Fosgate Power 1000.1bd amp..... My roof goes up when i turn it up!!! each sub is rated at 500watts RMS each! and 1000 watts peak, and i have 2 of these babies! and in the mail, i am getting Polk Momo Components for the front and rear powered by a Rockford Fosgate Power 550x....... But before whatever you do, get a fricken alarm system!!!!! I learned that the hard way! they stole my whole stereo system! and i only have basic liability insurance!

Isn't that the truth MyFirst4G. Definitely get an alarm system first, same thing happened to me, but they were kind enough to leave me my amp for me to sell to pay for the damage they did. Morons need to learn how to take shit out. How much can you get some door actuators for? Doesn't matter if its the cheap price or not, just need some door actuators so I can get some keyless entry on this bitch.

Also know what you mean about the top of the car moving. I couldn't ever keep the thing from rattling when i turned the bass up.

for the actuators, It depends on what alarm system you have, if you have a viper or anything else made by DEI, you have to get a DEI door actuator, and also depends on the model # u have to see if you need an extra relay for the doors, so PM me when you findout which system your gonna get!

Thats what I got! The 12" W6V2... I got the 500/1 monoblock JL amp too... When I had them in my car it would smoke most 1000 watt systems... Like Rockford, Mtx... I have those two beat. 146 DB's off one 12" thats an SQ based sub is bretty fuckin amazing! But it has alot to do with how you set it up and how knoledgable you are... I tried about 16 Diff boxes (Made them all myself) and finaly hit that!

Those are the best words to say right there. I've said it before. 120 watt amp + 2 12" JL W0 + Panasonic Headunit = 140.8 db. all basically because I learned how to hook up the amp right to get it running at 2 ohms. That kept up with a lot of the 300 Watt systems that was at the comp i went to, still wasn't quite up to them, but was close to the top 300 watt systems.
