Hello,

I have a 03 altima and so far it is in good shape. It has 85000 miles on it and yah its treating me well except that quite a few weeks ago i noticed that there will be some time that it wont shift from park to drive or neutral or any gear when i just start the engine. I tried plying with the brake pedal to see if the sensor is working. But unfortunately i guess it just quit on me so i spoke to a mechanic and he told me that it must be the sensor.:frown: Can anyone give me some tips regarding this matter.....I will greatly appreciate it.... God bless

un-sure of you problem does the shift selector move ? if no than the shifter solenoid is not releasing.. if it does move in to the drive position and vehicle does not move than its to many possible issues to list ....

Wiggle the steering wheel while trying to shift the gear selector. Sometimes pressure on the steering wheel jambs the release mechanism.
