95 Cougar

I bought a used 95 cougar with the 6 cyl. enginge in June. It ran fine for the first couple of weeks then when i would drive it and so in somewhere and try to start it it will not start. If you let it sit for 3 hrs. It will start right up. The fuel pump runs when the key is turned on. Every time we take it to the mechanic they tell us nothing is wrong. Any ideas where to start?

Have you checked fuel filter?

Does the engine turn when it dosen't start?

Something is getting hot, too hot to start. Not resetting until it cools down.
