I would suggest a B18C1 out of an integra gsr if you're going to do a motor swap. And if you wanted a fast car, why'd you buy a civic?

just came down to my possition....i had a truck and totaled it and figured id get a civic because i think there nice cars and they look bad ass pimped out...and i do alot of street racing lately and im just curious what i need to do to make it fast...and what kinds of engines i need to be looking at to swap out....
could you give me a estimate on the price of a engine like that and some the hp and torque that engine would put out....and whats the diffrence between that and a CRV-Tech i believe a crv is a b20 block and b18 head or b16 head

first off, for your own safety, it's VTEC, not VTECH. You will get yelled at that by a lot of people, many wars have been started because of that. :D
And anyways, here's some stats on the CRV motor
B20Z
146 hp@6400
133 ft/lbs of torque @4500
I dunno about the price
Acura Integra GSR motor
out of a 94+ integra
B18C1
170 hp@7600
128 ft/lbs of torque @6200
about $3,300

no, your DX cannot be fast. its a fate all us DX owners have to accept. with LOTS of work, sure you could be pretty fast.
do a swap. its your only choice. don't waste money on a turbo, when with a swap, you'll be faster, and you can still turbo the swap.
want a good engine, b18c5, ITR engine.
what engine depends on what your gonna be doing.
you want turbo...LS(b18b) motor is kewl
you want all motor, ITR or GSR(b18c1)
you just want some speed, SI (b16a2)
just swap. find a good deal and go with it

so basically the B18C1 would probly be the best motor for the civic....from what i see...thats the top recommended .....and B18c1 would be good to throw a turbo and further mods on it.
98 civic dx stock has like 88 hp dont it?

it has 105hp i think. The b18c is a good choice but it cost like a 1000 more than the b16a2. Which is another good choice.
