Gunze silver vs super silver?

What're the differences between these 2 colors? I was thinking of painting a porsche silver. I have difficulty painting silver because it has to go on very thin, and it has to dry as soon as it hits the surface. Any excess and the silver forms uneven blotches. Is super silver more suitable for airbrushing?

If you want to do a silver car give Tamiya's TS17 Gloss Aluminum a try right from the spray can. Here is an example.

Make sure to clearcoat Tamiya Gloss Aluminum or it will not polish properly

Try testors metalizers for air brushing. They have a great range of colours, dont require thinning and with a few coats of Tamiya Clear X22 acrylic over the top should polish up perfectly.

Go down to a Mercedes dealer and look at the silver cars and tell me they look like bare metal. Tamiya's gloss aluminum is one of the best and most accurate looking silvers for a car body that has ever been put in a spray can.

Yes Tamiya TS13 clear. You really should always clear coat metallics especially the lighter colors because if you don't you can get an uneven looking color when rubbed out.

Tamiya Clear question.
Can you use automotive polishes and waxes on the Tamiya Clear?
I used Dupicolor Clear Laquer over my TS50 Mica Blue and it came out OK but I think there was some kind of reaction since edges of my panel lines all are a shade lighter.
On the upside I can polish and wax the model like a 1:1 car.

I still favour the Metalizer range. They are a metallic paint just like any other. The reason people use them for a bare metal finish is because you can vary the tone and colour subtly by buffing some panels and making use of the large range of colours.
If you just spray a solid coat of a single colour it will look great.

If I can't get Tamiya sprays, can I airbrush Tamiya's Flat Aluminium and clear coat it - and get the same color as TS-17 Gloss Aluminium.
I would also be very interested to know how well do Tamiya's X-11 (Chrome Silver) and XF-16 (Flat Aluminium) match with TS-17, and which is closer when clear-coated.

X-11 would be a better match colorwise for Gloss Aluminum. The metal flake particles are about the same size. XF-16 would be a bit pale. Don't know how they would look clearcoated, why don't you test it out on a piece of scrap plastic and see how it compares to 935k3's gorgeous Peuguot?
