Silverado 1/8 mile time

Just raced my truck for the first time.. first time racing anything ever for me.
I've got a 2003 Silverado 1500 Z71 4.8L V8, 4.1 gears, posy trac, and standard transmission. My only mods so far are Flowmaster dual pipes and K&N cold air intake. (other stuff done inside-stereo-gps-lights-ect)

I ran it 4 times on the drag and my best time came out to be 10.3 and crossed the line doing 65 mph. I was racing my buddy in his 2007 Toyota X-Runner.. his best time was a 10.0.. and he's all stock. That kinda pissed me off but I do have a small block and his truck is obviously lighter and has much better traction as far as the tires and suspension. MY goal is to beat this jerk, I mean my friend lol, but that may prove difficult because he's about to put a upgraded exahust on.

Being there made me serious about wanting to cut my time, please let me know if you think this is a good time and any suggestions you might have to do better (mods). Although my limiting factor may be that I do want to go with a 6in lift and 35's in the future. It is afterall a 4x4 but I'm adamant about doing better on and off road!

Start with tires. Hard tires will not give you traction. Look into a computer chip. Sometime chips can really make a differance. The problem is getting the right one. Ask around. After that is cam and you can keep going.
