im seeing about buying one inthe area,,,and i found a white si with 168,000 miles on it and i was just wondering if 1500 is to much for it...the guy also told me that he would throw in a JDM b16 for a hundred dollars!!!

i was just getting your opinions.

oh and when you start the crx it likes to die on you until it gets warmed up....any idea what it could be?

A "white si with 16xxxx miles" description doesnt exactly cut it. The thing could be rusted to hell and the b16 could have rods thrown all over the place. Try a better description.

But if its in decent shape..and has minimal to no rust, and most everything works and is there..jump on it man. As for the b16, a hundred bucks isnt a whole lot..if it blown then thats also very little to pay, even if its got like bad rings or something..

well its not too rusted from awhat i could see...

but the only major problem i saw was the idle when you first start it up...
the engine tries to die on you if oyu dont give it some revvin until it warmed up

so my friend thinks its the IAC....ill look at it and get you guys pics in a few hours when i go look at it today

well i went and checked it out again today. I brought my friend matt with me...he's a moderator on here...drives the red del sol vtec...forgot his forum name though

ok heres the deal....the white si crx has a vtec block...and we think it has a ZC head. non vtec

no oil leaks all wiring good...everyhting works...so now i jsut need to see about buying it...i think that this would be an awesome project car

i dont know much about the B16 though that he is throwing in...like i said ill get pics asap

heh... If you pull exactly $1000 cash out of your pocket, and note the idling problem, and the guy really wants to sell it, you'll get it for that... if he doesn't really care about selling it, then you probably won't get it for less (or that much less) than what he's asking for.

Best bet, not knowing what the actual problem is, and working with a 16 year old car... is to try and get it for less than asking price.

Normal people, you show them $1000 in cash, they flip a lil inside... the average blue collar worker doesn't often see that much money all in one place at one time.

Try it.. might work. I bought a 1989 Camaro Z-28 last year like that.. guy wanted 800 for it, I handed him 400 cash all at once, and he took it. (After going back inside to confer with his beer fridge...)
