New to this board, and looking for some help.
I got my first car. Its a 94 t bird that has a 4.6L v8, and a transmission problem. The transmission fluid level is normal, and it doesnt smell burnt.
Heres the problem:
When taking off, the car feels like it's staying in first gear, until I mess with the gas pedal at about 3500rpm, only then will it shift into second. From there it moves through the gears smoothly. Also, the overdrive works, but the light that says "o/d off" keeps flashing. I can shift the car manually, and I still have to let off of the gas pedal for it to shift.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

It sounds like a modulator valve problem. I know some about C4's and C6's (old days) but not much about the newer ones. Hopefully someone else in here can answer your question. Welcome to the forum!

With the AODE being an electronic transmission:). The OD light flashing means there is a trouble code stored in the computer system. You need to find out what code is stored in the PCM with a code reader. Then, you could go from there, as far as needed repairs.

Thanks for the help. I will try the modulator valve and then see if I can get the code and repair the OD problem.
