I have a 1994 3000gt vr4. The battery died and now the radio needs to be reset. Other than going to the dealer to pay them to take out the radio to get the code, how can I do it myself? Thanks for your help!

I had the same problem. I think dealer has a computer they hook it up to and figure it out. Cost me 24 bucks to do it but I had them write down the code for me just in case the battery got d/c again. I dont know of any other way besides going to the dealer, but Im sure these other wonderful guys may know something I probably dont. Good luck

get the serial number off the radio. to do this, you'll have to pull the radio out from the dash (if already installed) and the serial number can be found on the top. with this number, call a local mitsubishi dealership and ask them for the security code. if they say they're gonna charge you money to look up the code, say thanks, hang up the phone, and call another dealership until someone just gives you the code for free.
as for punching in the code, use the preset buttons (i believe) and then the program button to enter the code. however, if you enter the wrong code 3 times, then the radio will lock itself, and you'll have to go through more headache to unlock it. so just make sure you have the correct code before playing around and punching buttons.

Thanks for the advice. Can you give me the details of how to take out the radio? Also, my car has a funny noise in the back when I go 55 mph. The dealer said it was bearings. Is this bad and how can it be taken care of? Thanks for your help!!
