Drive Belt Tensioner

I am having a very difficult time with the drive belt tensioner. I need to loosen it so that I can replace the alternator but I can't get a breaker bar to fit in the area. I can get a small ratchet there but that is about it.

Do I need to use something special or what?

i use a 1/2 drive long handle rachet with a tilting head

I actually managed to get the tensioner loose. It was sure stuck on there tight. I used all of my strength to get the tensioner to move. I wasn't able to fit a breaker bar in the space provided so I was only able to use the 1/2 inch ratchet and socket.

I wish that they would have set the motor a little bit farther back from the fan than it currently is. There is next to no room to work with the motor and fan being so close.
