Do you keep all your old model boxes?

I do. I keep all kinds of junk in them, or nest them in each other so they take up less room.

I used to cut out the pictures. Then I would promptly lose the pictures. Apparently, I lose a lot of stuff... :(

I was just wondering, especially considering the size of primera man's collection. :D

i don't know on what basis i decide if i keep the boxes or not, its probably just what i decide on when i'm doing the model. but i throw away the diecast boxes.

No! I feel a kit is truly finished when I throw the box away!
I usually have more than one kit of each model, so any spares I move into the next kits box!

I would have 90% of all the kits i have done.

I just cut the front cover off to keep in a box (kinda like the box pics) and also keep the instrustions

I keep all my instruction sheets, and all the covers of my boxes are flattened out, and stacked.

I keep the box and instructions. Makes for easy trasportation or if i need to hind them if little brother or cousins are coming.

i keep them for awhile, just in case I need a part if something breaks. I then throw them out.
I have kept a few for transportation purposes, along with a whole bunch of toilet paper.

If I like the box art I cut out the top and tape it up on my wall.

I actually have started thinking that it'd probably be a good idea if some of the model companies started selling posters of their model kit box art without the model names and such.

Think about some of the cool box art in Fujimi's Touge series, or the classic Revell box art from the 60's. That'd make some sweet posters.

I usually throw them away. If the kit is that special that I would contemplate keeping the box such as it being rare or a potential collectors item, I just won't build the kit at all.

i admit i'm a junk collector and never throw anything away. But eventually you have to do some spring cleaning!

I'm the same as you Jay. I use them for storing decals, plastic, spare parts and whatnot.
Also for other things like holding parts of the kit I'm working on. For example, the parts start off in the "off the sprue" box, then move to the "ready for painting box" next the "decaling" box and finaly to the "complete, ready to be assembled" box.

I keep all of mine. I still have them all right under my bed. I don't know why, but I just do.

I typically cut out the side panel of the fujimi/aoshima kits, and display it next to the corresponding car. On Revell/AMT kits, I might cut out the side panel if it is attractive art. :)

I've never had any reason to keep boxes, I just chuck 'em. Most of the kits I've built didn't have real inspiring box art, just an illustration. I already know what the car looks like, and if I forget I have a model I can look at, so there's no reason for me to clutter my apartment with empty boxes. I've never regretted throwing them out, though I have wondered what it would be like to have kept them....

I've chucked all but a very few...

I think I will start taking digi-pix of them before I toss any new ones though.

I usually keep my bigger boxes for throwing parts and the likes in. others, I cut the box art, and keep the instructions. Works the best for me.

I KEEP EVERYTHING! I think, that I should keep what I paid for. I keep the box, the instructions, the leftover plastic and the plastic bags. It's sort of like a ... hmm.. memory thing, it's like, OH YEAH! I remember when I was newb and built that kit! Then you look at another and it's....... cool!
So, I say you should keep what you paid for. Even if it's just some plastic and some paper! :iceslolan

I don't have a huge collection of model boxes yet :p. The boxes that I have I've kept just to store the extra pieces and whatnot.

I keep all of my model boxes, instructions, and anything else that comes with them. I usually store the instructions in a separate place, and use the boxes to put parts and stuff in. I always seem to find a use for them.

I keep a few only for transportation along wth some bubble wrap and to hold other spare parts. I do keep every instruction though. And I keep pics only If I like the real car pic or it has interesting facts.
