Does Hasegawa make Evolutions VII, VIII, IX ?

And where can I find the Evolution IV, V, VI GSR ? I've tried looking around HLJ and really dont want to go through eBay (I was ripped off over 250 $ from a seller in HK). Thanks~

No, Hasegawa doesn't make the later generation Evo's.

Pretty much, everything after the VII is only available from Fujimi, Tamiya made the VI road version and V, VI and VII rally versions.

Hasegawa made the Evo through the VI versions IIRC.

Why does everyone hate HLJ? Is it because you are Canadian? Ebay is chancy..yea...but at HLJ, you'll get your models in a few months time(if on backorder)

I don't hate HLJ, its that they never carry the models I want.

So to clarify:

Hasegawa made Evolutions III, IV, V GSR

Tamiya made Evolution VI GSR, VI (Tommi Makinen)

Fujimi made Evolutions VII, VIII, IX GSR & MR

Now the question is where can I get Hasegawa and Tamiya models, In particular the Tommi edition without going through eBay ?

Most people want their kits in not a few months time; because most people want the kit to build, not to toss in the closet. :p

Are you looking for the special edition Tommi Makinen edition or the WRC version?

Also, Hasegawa made everything down to the Evo I.

I am Canadian and I absolutely LOVE HLJ. It usually only takes a couple weeks for me to get my stuff. I think the longest I've ever waited for something from HLJ is about a month, and that was because it was backordered.

Which specific versions are you looking for? Also are you after the road going versions or the rally versions? Might aide people to know what you are after and then they can point you in the right direction.

Place an ad in the classifieds for what you'd like to find. There are those that have these kits and may wish to sell them. I'm keeping my Hasegawa IV but there are more around perhaps. :)

I'm looking particularly for:

Hasegawa Evolution IV, V, VI GSR (Non rally versions)
Tamiya VI Tommi Makinen Edition GSR (Non rally version)

HLJ doesn't carry the Hasegawa models any more and i'm struggling to find information regarding where to purchase them in North America.

Also, how is the Tamiya Evo VI compared to the Hasegawa Evol VI ? I'm starting to build my Hasegawa Evolution III and its just leaps and bounds better than the Fujimi one. I've never experienced a Tamiya build either.

Does anyone have more information pertaining to this model kit?

You're going to find it extremely hard to find a model kit which doesn't exist.

The model shown in the link is one which Steve modified himself to represent that version, there is no kit of it.

Which kit is it based off of ? I e-mailed Hiroboy through the contact link on his website but it bounced back saying it failed.

Tamiya VI Tommi Makinen Edition GSR (Non rally version)

I'm sure there is a transkit to change the Tamiya Evo VI into the Tommi Makinen edition which includes the front bumper and wheels etc.I just can't remember who makes it.Maybe someone knows??

As Freakray said this kit was modified by Steve of Hiroboy. Chris of Scale Auto Style made a transkit with seperate decals for the Tamiya Evo 6, but is now OOP :disappoin

I have been buying from HLJ since 1996, years before HLJ become a supporter of our magazine. :screwy:
The average time to get a kit you ordered, if the kit is marked as stock, is 2 weeks, using the Japanese SAL postal service and 5 days using the well know EMS. The packaging of HLJ has proved to be the best around the world, I can assure this as I'm buying out my country since 25 years ago. :banghead:
Probably you are wanting to buy a kit that HLJ have as backorder, then they could get for you or not, is your decision but when the kit is issued being from Japan always will be found in HLJ. :smokin:
HLJ have 30 people working to satisfy their customers and probably you will be able to get a discontinued kit in a small retailer like R10 but just because they couldn't sell it at all.

I also use to buy in HK and sometimes in ebay, discontinued or kits which I get cheaper, but to be frank the only seller which I never had a problem with during 25 years was, and still is HLJ.:shakehead

If you think that I'm telling this because my relationship with HLJ, then you don't know me :nono:

Cheers
