Just to add from the dead "What do the cops drive where you live?" Mods if this is deemed worthless by all means delete.

The cops in my town have been driving Dodge Durangos since they were introduced in '98. Last week I saw one of these patrolling the streets.

Probably has updated radar technology so I'll have to upgrade my radar detector soon (or slow down). I also think the Colorado State Patrol got rid of their Camaro in favor of a brand new Dodge Charger. Saw one a couple weeks ago.

After watching Transformers, I'd be voting to change what I drove too. :D

Cops out here picked up a new Ford SUV that's new this month. Fortunately I haven't had any run ins with it yet.

we've had those new chevy tahoes for 6 months now...pretty sweet cruising vehicles...I'd rather have a New Mustang GT like the coronado PD has...but not bad nonetheless...

the question is, do better SUVs mean better police work?

our police force just upgraded to the new Tahoes as well. EVERY sergeant on the force is getting a brand new Tahoe. I helped my friend put a cd player in his. they are pretty sweet.

Why in fucks name to police need massive SUV's?
Are white suburbanites getting so paranoid that they want thier kids taken to soccer practice under police protection?
They can't be for off-road use as Tahoes are shit offroad, they can't be for highway patrol use because they're shitslow and for general duties they possess no more uses than a sedan.

We have 'em so we can drive on the beach if need be. Otherwise we have those chargers.

My town's still stuck with the Crown Vics. NJ State Patrol though uses blue-green Chargers for unmarked black n' whites.

If that's the plan, they have to have to have a specific prisoner-to-cop ratio... trust me... I had to listen to this GAWD awful crap for the last 2 years of my life....
*groan* Basically, it should be 1-1 which means that 5 prisoners won't work for even 2 cops.
Okay, I promise, I'm stopping there.

ours are used for k9 units and lake patrol. With the amount of shit they all have to carry in the trunks (CVPI only has a 200lb rating) and the shotgun,Sims shot gun and the ar15 air packs hazmat suits accident investigation stuff swat gear and so on. it doesnt take long to fill a car
