AGP Compatibility.

To start out, let me point out that I know nothing about AGP cards. I have an older mobo with a 1x/2x AGP port. Currently I have a Diamond Monster Fusion AGP (16mb) installed in there. This card is very poor, and is not compatible with most new games. The chipset is very outdated.
Basically my question is this. Cards have recently became quite a bit cheaper. Most newer cards however say AGP 2x/4x on the box. I was looking at the RADEON 7000 ($100 cdn), but I dont know if I can use a 2x/4x card in a 1x/2x port.
Someone wanna fill me in.....
Thanks in advance :)

If the card still suports agp 2x and your mobo suports 2x then it will work. Although i would not get a radeon 7000 for 100$ when you can get a radeon 9000 for 30 bucks more but look on the box to see if it still supports agp 2x.
I would really recomend upgrading the mobo and procesor(i can only guess that the one you have is not very fast) prices are very cheap nowadays.
