Quick question,
I was told if I put an aftermarket air intake on my 2004 Cavalier it would mess with the computer and screw up my gas miliage or something. Is this true? If I put it on would it mess it up too badly? If so, if I put the original back on would it run like it used too?
Thanks!

It wont mess with the computer at all. It will give you a little horsepower gain by bringing more air into the engine. It will only mess w/ your gas milage by only 1 mile or so. Nothing huge. Just whoever told you that, doesnt know what they are talking about.

Hey Mikey do you want to buy my intake for 03 - 05 cavaliers and sunfires? The reason is that im getting a turbo soon and i wont be needing it... it will fit on both cars and between 2003 and 2005, saw that you have a 2004 cavalier and you are looking for little performance gain, i would say it gives you about 5 - 10 HP gain... its a cold air, which gives you alot more gain then a cheap short ram intake... It does not mess up your computer at all, and it gives you BETTER gas mileage...
This is the one i bought, it costed me $283 after shipping...

Dont be too sure with that one. Maybe a 3-8 HP gain, with a 1-2 more HP gain then a WAI.

If you dyno 99% of stock cars w/ a CAI, they gained MAYBE 3whp....dont fool yourself into thinking that you're gaining 8hp because you're not. I would give you a solid 2-3whp if you dont have anything else done....if you have a header and full exhaust (untuned obviously) you're maybe going to pick up 8-12whp (from the combination of I/H/E over stock). People always overestimate what they're going to see from simple modifications.

Ya really, give that dude a little slap that told u it would mess with ur computer. Air intake is better for ur car, not worse. Air is what makes the intake work, not a computer. Why do u think it's called an "AIR" intake.
