I swapped out a 5.7 litre(350) motor for another 5.7.(350) I'm using the same tranny(700r4), torque coverter flywheel etc. Both motors are GM. Now the torque conerter lacks about 1/4-3/16 of an inch from contacting the flywheel. I need a solution :banghead:

The torque convertor can slide in and out .
Try sliding it out.
Try sliding it out.

As said it will slide forward.
But a 1/4 in is a lot of slack.
1/8 0r 1/16 would be a lot better.
I would put some spacer washers between flywheel and converter.
Get slack down to a 1/8 or 1/16 of in.

Thats what I was hoping. I just wanted to run it by someone else. I am aware they slide out but too far you disengage the pump.

I would not put shims between the flywheel and torque convertor. The torque convertor needs room to expand when it runs and gets hot. I have seen them push on crank thrust bearings and transmission bearings and damage both.
