Ebtcm ???

what is the EBTCM on our 98 achieva ??

what part is it and what does it do ?

the dealer says it is bad on ours

the ABS and ETS off lights are on

the battery get drained down while it is running because something keeps frying the alternator

its a new problem

after the security system issue we finally fixed


help ??

what is an EBTCM ??

could it be fluid leak short in the circuit ?

if i were to check resistance of the wheel sensors with the digital multitmeter then what reading should i get if they are good ?

what else should i check and how ?
steering position sensor value ?

something shorts out the chargin system and fries the alternator, i have been thinking a screwed up relay ? relay in the EBTCM ??

i tried to find one on car-part.com and it comes up as chassis control box(not engine) ABS(center of firewall)

is this it ??

or is that just the PCM ??

need to find out ASAP

where can i find out ??

Electronic brake and traction control module. It is the brain of the ABS braking and traction control system. Most likely located somewhere under the dash.

Also, the module controls the actuator for variable assist steering.
