is this real or very sick satire?

If it's real, which I'd say it is, then it's very, very sick. The story is identical to the plot of an episode of Crime Scene Investigations I saw recently. The only difference being that the driver was male ... and it was TV drama, not real-life!

that's real alright, I remember hearing it on the news just after it happened.
That is well beyond inhumane

It's true - we ran quite a few stories about the case. Apparently the woman would periodically go out into the garage and apoligize to him for hitting him, but refuse to help him off the car. One of the more disturbing aspects of the case was that while the man was dying in her garage, she went in the home and had sex with a friend. She later bragged about this to friends at a nightclub. Also disturbing was that she had friends willing to help dispose of the body...there had been others in her home that knew of the man but were not concerned enough to do anything about him.
