93 LeSabre Front End Scraping

hi-

i have a 93 lesabre with 85k miles on it, and just replaced the front hub bearing assemblies because one of the abs sensors was throwing a code, and i was feeling a little harmonic humming/scraping that was consistant with road speed [no change if the car is put in neutral while coasting.] the light is off now, and everything appears to be in order, but i'm still feeling the scraping like i'm riding around with a bad bearing. tires are michelin, and the brakes work fine, and don't seem to have an effect on the hum when applied, so i don't think its a dragging caliper. it doesn't look like the rotors are warped. inspection of the hubs seems to indicate that they're okay, and it doesn't seem probable that new parts would exhibit the same symptoms right out of the box. both dust shields seem to be out of the way, too. my only guess is that maybe i need to look at the left side transmission mounts, but i'm stumped... any ideas?

thanks,
roger

Try to jack the car up and put the front end on jack stands. Then, get in the car, start it up, put your foot on the brake, then shift into drive. Get out and listen for the sound and try to isolate where it's coming from. Get a flashlight to help identify the parts that are scraping.

I'd think bad axleshafts? :dunno:

I would not recommend the above diagnostic procedure
