okay i bought the car with a no start situation this past summer. I changed out the whole dist and the car started over. i let the car sit for the winter and nvr turn it on until now. the car would start and then die out. im not sure what it is. I changed out the alternator and the rotor in the the dist cuz it was bad. I checked the fuel lines and there is fuel coming out and of course theres spark. i try hold the throttle open to but it will only run for a little bit and die out. help me out here

could be you put the distributor in wrong. It may have been willing to start before the winter time, but if your timing isn't just right it may start under certain temperatures and not others. It could be way installed the wrong way, or maybe off by 10 degrees or so

umm... I'm confused... 90 Civic should be a D series motor... D series motor, all the dizzy's are interchangeable, with the exception of putting a DPFI diz on a MPFI motor... you can't do that w/o adding a sensor... CPS I believe... but the diz casing and housing are indeed the same... internal parts are all the same, and from what I remember, you can only install the diz backwards if you really ram it in there, and you CAN'T put it in 10* off... the only timing that could be 10* off would be the cam... and changing the diz won't affect the cam timing at all...
Yep, I'd say bad gas too. Give it some beano, and fill the tank back up.
