Need some help here on trying to figure out where to start. It was raining to hard about a week ago and b4 we knew it we were driving through 8 inches of water and the car stoppped right in its tracks. Once we pushed it out of the water we seeen that there was oil coming out... It seemed like alot of oil to me but once we checked the dip stick it had oil in it still inless it was more water then anything. =( Now ofcourse i found out that the oil pan heads and block are all aluminim =( We also found a small chunk of aluminom on the ground where the car was sitting. We moved it out of the road thats how we noticed the pieace there. And also noticed that the1 of the 8 plugs were wet. It been sitting now for a good week. I dont realy know where to start to find out whats wrong with this.. I know we have to tryin get the oil pan off to see if its only the oil pan that needs to be replaced and im so hoping that that is all it is.. In order to take the oil pan off we noticed that we have to take the exhaust off.. And i know that the water was sucked in from the bottom of the front of the car and i guess thats another one of the down falls of this... Ive also been told that i might of thrown a rod or that i might need to replace the heads. (considering that theres 2) Now i have called around and i found some used parts that are pretty cheap. Im also wondering if theres a place online thats ''free'' where i can look at the engine or even the oil pan picture wise.. To give me a better idea what this small chunk is that felll off the car.. If the parts even from my car. I mean who knows it could have already been on the ground but i doubt it. If talking to me is easier through Yahoo messenger please do so.. My screen name is eve_in_da_608 thats the name im on now. Im also living in Kentucky. If theres anyone that can help me please let me know.. Im 8 months pregnant and realy need to have this car up and running again!:banghead:

Welcome to AF, you need to get this car on a lift some how and look at the pan and block, does the engine turn over or is it locked, have you taken out the plugs and tried to spin over to see if the cylinders are filled with water, there are certain steps in this procedure to determine what if any damage has been done to the engine, this is usually not a "dyer" type repair.
