i have a 91 camry with a 2.5 engine and whenever i floor it to pass or watever it suddenly jerks and i lose power...unless i release it the gas and press it gradually...so i was just wondering if it was the fuel filter or maybe even the fuel pump...thanking u advance

It could be something related to the fuel such as a marginal fuel pump/filter/or regulator. Do you have any trouble going up steep hills? You can check that by getting a fuel pressure gauge and attaching it to your fuel rail and taping it to the windshield so you can monitor the pressure while test drving it to see if the pump can maintain the pressure with high fuel flow.
It could also be other things such as a bad spot on your TPS, or MAP/MAF sensor. Is the engine a 4 cyl? Does it happen at only one particular speed/RPM range?
Could be related to a clogged air filter, bad plugs/wires, sticky throttle plate. Check you air filter first.
Does the engine revs increase when you floor it? Just wondering if your torque converter is functioning properly. Any problems with car stalling when coming to a stop? Does your throttle pressure cable going into the trans look in good condition? Shifts don't feel too soft?

Have you checked for codes thrown? O/D light flashing?
It sounds like maybe a miss. How old are the plugs and wires?

Bogging like that under sudden acceleration is often a sign of a tune-up being needed. How old are the plugs, cap, wires, and rotor?

+1. Sounds like a little injector cleaner could be in the works, too.

I finally just got my 91 Camry running again about 3 days ago. I posted a thread on my issue as well. After replacing many (probably unnecessary) parts, the coolant temperature sensor was faulty on mine. After replacing that, I've had absolutely no problems since. And my symptoms were very similar to yours with the stalling and not starting issue. Was like it was flooding.
