Sold the Camaro :(

Hey guys its been awhile since i posted but i just wanted to say thanks for all of your help with my old camaro, today i recently sold it for an 2004 LS1 GTO with an STS turbo kit on it. I got a good deal on it and could not pass it up (i work at a dealership), it only had 22k miles on it. Anyways just thought i would say thanks for all of your guys help with my camaro!

Well, I'll say its a reasonable upgrade. Anything else done to the Goat besides the turbo. I hope its got internals, because you can't run much boost otherwise. Congrats though.

I dont think it has that much internals done to it, because it only has about 10k worth of upgrades done to it and with the new hood, rims, and turbo kit that doesnt leave much for the rest. but my boss (the guy who won Bull Run on spike tv with the WS6 Trans Am, ive known him for 15 years, so i trust him) assured me that it was a great car and well taken care of since it was his friend that owned it, im pretty pumped about getting the car, yeah the sts turbo only runs at either 5 psi or 7 psi, which doesnt seem like alot but dang can that thing scoot, ive been looking at some dyno numbers with the kit and have been pretty impressed even with the low boost amount

nice! im sure all of us here respect that GTO.... specially with even a small amount of boost. im sure you'll be happy with that baby.. prolly can hold its own against brand spankin new (nonz06) vettes!

Hey guys i have a question, the ls1 gto is the same ls1 as in 98-02 fbodys right? i was confused because for the gto its rated at 350, but didnt hear about them changing it at all. also if the gto has a 3.76 (auto) gear ratio and i think the f-bodys have a 2.76 auto gear ratio (correct me if im wrong) then even with the gto weighing more (3700 vs i think 3500) wouldnt that come out to be about the same quarter time? but everywhere i look stock for stock the fbodys beat the gto in quarter by like .4 seconds. is this right or is my numbers off? thanks in advance, i appreciate it

The 04s have LS1s and the 05 and up got LS2s.

Yeah, the GTO's are considerably heavier. And the IRS it came with doesn't help traction in the quarter. And it is the same LS1 engine as the f-bodies. The 350 rating is due to the fact that it came with true-dual exhaust from the factory and some other little things. Plus, it would look bad if it had the same advertised hp and tq as the deceased f-bodies.

GTOs have a 3:42 diff with autos. I don't know where you got the 3.76 from.

lol ill try to get a pic like that for you, but some bad/good news about the car. it took them longer to get it ready, then i get a call today as im going down to pick it up ... and they put the turbo charger at 15psi and blew the engine (blew a hole in cylinder #7), but on a good note i get a brand new ls1 crate motor and they are going to upgrade the fuel system and forge the internals so it will handle the 15 psi of boost. They said it would be around a 600hp car once that has been done, and i pick it up saturday (his garuntee, our performance guy (the guy who built his Bull Run winning trans ams LS1) will spend all day and night on it) plus the new engine has a warranty on it and im pretty much getting a brand new car

So you're not paying for the motor? I would think not since they blew it up. That is a nice deal. I want a supercharged ls1...lol.

nope, im not paying a thing, it stinks i have to wait on it, but i get a better deal in the end, so its all good, i just cant wait for tomorrow unless something else goes wrong ...

haha yeah i am pretty lucky, but unfortunately im still waiting on the car ... should be tomorrow, but then again i have waited over a week for it now so who knows
