Hey guys. I need some help with something. I'm not very mechanicaly inclined and trying to fix the headlight switch. I have got the steering wheel off as well as the steering column and bottom half of the dashboard. I came across a wiring harness that the wires are "plugged" into straight pin slots and I can't seem to get them to come out. I'm afraid I'll mess something up if I pull to hard. Is there something I'm not doing right or perhaps a trick to it? Any help will be apreciated. Thanks

Somewhere on that connector is a release tab. Some you push in, others you pull up.

Thanks a bunch! Will that release all of the wires at once or just the three that I need?

Ok. I did that now I still can't get the wire out. I found the flap that you were talking about and I pulled it back but, they are locked in there and it will not release.

Be patient and careful, you don't want to find out he hard way that a wire seperated on you if you tug it too hard. :2cents:

Thanks for all of your help guys. I finally got it out and the new one in. The trouble now is I think I have the wrong one lol. The one I removed has red, white and a gray wire. The new one is red, white and white. I got it all hooked up but could not get the headlights to work. The "super brights" work but not the headlights. I then switched the wires around and still got the same thing. I've called Advance where I ordered the part and they're ordering another one thinking that I may have gotten a bad part. Keep your fingers crossed for me and thanks agaion guys.:banghead:

I haven't had any time to stop in and update you guys. I got it fixed!! The other "new" part they ordered didn't work and I was ticked off. I went to a junk yard and got the whole assembly with the headlight switch and wiper switch intact. So, I just replaced the whole thing in about five minutes and it worked like a charm. It cost me over half the price of buying the headlight switch new. If anyone else has this problem, please tell them my story and suggest the junk yard. Thanks guys for all of your help.
