Anyone have a quote on the replacement cost because my mechanic wants $618 and that sounds a little insane to me.

I hear shops do charge an arm and a leg for the work...mainly because the master's a b*tch to get to. At any rate, I say you do it yourself as it's not too bad of a job:

Master: http://www.3si.org/forum/showthread.php?t=297067&highlight=master+cylinder+replacement

Slave:

And if you wanted OEM parts, PM jason_bet or check out his website: www.pricematchedparts.com

Good luck!

618!?!? I am SOO glad I do the work myself cause I had no idea.

Go to autozone, buy master and slave rebuild kit for $20 a peice. Follow the steps on how to remove the cylinders (It's really easy I promise, as long as you know how to use a wrench.) And rebuild the cylinders (Once again... really easy to do, almost impossible to get wrong, just put the new parts in the same way you took the old ones out.) Basically if the cylinders are leaking, its due to worn gaskets, thats really all the rebuild kit is. It contains a new plunger and spring and maybe a screw or two... but once again, not hard to do.

5.99 + shipping (should be next to nothing to ship) for rebuild kit or a reman slave for 17.99+shipping
