neutral safety switch

My Jeep had problems starting in park so I would start it in neutral. Then the problem got worse and now it will only start when the Jeep is cold. If I drive it 1/2 hour or so it won't start again unless I let it cool down for a couple of hours.
I have taken apart the neutral safety switch and cleaned it. I have also replaced it with one from a junkyard and that still did not correct the problem.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

:iagree: I had the same thing with mine left me like :cya: It can be a real pain to replace, so set aside some time for the job.

I have changed the ignition switch in my 89 cherokee. If I start it when it is cold it will start right up, but after I drive it for a half hour or so and turn it off it will not start back up. When I turn the key it does nothing no clicking or noises of any kind. After it sits for a little while it will start right up. Any more suggestions? Thanks in advance

I took my nss off the jeep. Took it apart and cleaned it and greased it, seems to have fixed the problem.
