Loud drive?

I have a 2005 Honda Civic, which is (of course) just over the warranty mileage.

I had a Honda before and it has always been a bit of a loud ride so I don't even notice the sound of this one unless I go very fast. Well I was in the car with someone the other day and they are concerned that my air tran is going because you can hear the car as it accelerates and maintains speeds of 60+. (She just had her air tran on her Mercury Mountaineer replaced twice). Is this something I should be worried about or is this normal for Hondas? The sound comes from the engine and the back.

Oh, and I know nothing about cars, so the jargon will be lost on me. Thank you!!!!!!!

That gen is known for there noisy cabin. You can check the piping on your airbox as well as clean the filter. Also check the pressure and wear on your tires.

Thank you! I noticed that on certain roads it will be louder and it almost has a rattling noise from the back. However this is not the way it is on all pavements. Does this mean anything?

The road noise on my 05 is horrible. (even with new Michelin Harmony tires)
