hello every one i have a 2000 rodeo w/t the 3.2.seems to me that it s lost power. i have a k/n air filter (clean) just had the injectors cleaned at the dealer. my problem is the rpm goes just fine but the power isnt going to the street.i think it could be the cat converters that are plug w/t carbon deposit.it idles fine and steady.rpm goes up fast.i also cleaned the egr valve.do you have any other idea.thanks for the reply.(excuse my speling i m a french canadien that speaks french 98 % of the time.)

Do you have the automatic transmission? Sounds more tranny related to me. I would think you'd have problem with revving the engine, even in park, if it were clogged cats.

how many miles are on your rig? todays cat convertors especially under obd2 only last around 80,000 miles in all city driving. alot longer if you drive on the highway or not. usually the obd2 system will flag a cat code if the flow is clogging up, but stranger things have happened. you can go to a muffler shop and request a flow test. they have to drill a whole in the system to measure the flow. but that is how you really tell if your cat is bad.
also if you have a data reader (not a code reader) and you know how to interpret the data stream from the upstream and downstream o2 sensors you can also tell how effective the cats are. good luck! mike
p.s. be carefull buying new cats (if ya need them). some new cats will flag a cat code on the obd2 system. make sure you get certified (epa) cats and make sure the shop that puts them in will garantee they will not flag a cat code. why get the garantee? because small claims court sucks!
