ok i'm looking at buying a 95 camaro five speed. it's the v6 tho and we got a old 350 in the garage and i was wondering if anybody has tried to swap a 350 into a 4th gen camaro or firebird. my big question is would it bolt up to the transmission and how hard would it be to wire it up. thanks for any help

unfortunately, based off of what i know about the 3rd gens, the v8 would not bolt up to a v6 transmission, even if it could i dont think the tranny could handle that power

unfortunately its not simply a matter of unbolting the v6 and bolting in the v8.
Lots of things are going to have to be replaced: Engine (given), transmission, wiring, fuel pump, radiator, suspension (v8's are heavier), probably going to want to throw a new rear end in there. etc.
It is cheaper and easier to buy a camaro with a 350 already in it. even if you find a camaro with a blown 350 to swap the 350 in your garage into.
That being said: lots of people have successfully converted v6s into v8s. I don't know of hand any who would say its a good idea though.

The 350s never came with a 5 speed from the factory for a reason.

It would be a waste of time and money. I'm guessing it's a carbed engine? May not even fit in the car at all. Stepho hit it all except the rear end... no reason to change it unless you want to for gearing and lsd (but keep in mind if the car is a Y87 its got 3.42s/LSD already)

Actually it still has 3:23s since its a 5 speed. Only autos got the 3:42s with Y87.
