Is is just me, or are there not anymore '96 Bonnevilles left on the road. I find it odd that there're multiple posts for multiple years of Bonny's, but there're just a handful of posts regarding the '96. I'm new to this forum, and wasn't looking for anything in particular...just curious to see what kind of problems or situations were occuring with the '96 Bonnevilles. I bought my '96 SSE used with 129K on it. The vehicle, other than the mileage is in pristine condition, and other than performing normal maintenance and service, has been an outstanding car to own and drive. I now have close to 240K on it, and I love driving it. Are there other happy owners of 1996 Bonnevilles, or am I an exception to the norm?

Greetings I am also new here.

I bought an SE with 84K on it for my daughter to drive to college. It now has 91K on it. it has som shudder at times when shifting in and out of overdrive but this problem was inhearnet to these trans (or so I am told. You can either kick it or let off an it will stop. I added a trans cooler and it helped.

It has now started leaking at the plastic connector form the intake manifold to the Alternator braket for the heater hose (a dumb arrangement if I ever saw one) and I can't find any information on how to fix it. Can anyone offer any advice?

I love the car other wise and so does my Daughter.

Thanks,
Roy

racolqui, the plastic elbow is held in place by the belt tensioner assembly. When you remove it, the elbow will then come out. Motormite (Help) makes an aftermarket version, but it is of inferior quality to the GM OEM part that is about the same price. The GM part # is 24503423, and costs $9.71 retail at a GM dealer and comes with the 2 required o-rings.
