i smell a burning smell when i gun it...maybe its da a/c... da engine not very sure...any one know what it is??

how old is your car? how many miles? you sure you're not smelling the burnt rubber? :p there is a burning-like smell when i gun mine as well particularly in vtec. it's normal.

unless its the clutch slipping and you are smelling that wonderful smell.

what i meant by the burning of tires is that when you spin your tires, you'd smell it. i dont' think that's your problem. what kind of burning smell is it? could you be burning oil?

when i go fast i smell it..i tend to smell it more when i have da a/c on... i dont know..it might be oil..cuz when im driving normal i dont smell it

look on the engine around the block and head area for black marks like burnty residue .. or neutral the ride and have a friend (someone u trust drealy with your life) rev the engine and look if theree is a crack in the block .. u should be looking for anyfluid spraying out of the block or head ... something like that happened to a friend of mind before

Have you EVER changed the microfilter for the AC. They are in a box behind the glove compartment and trust me they need changed every 30,000 miles. I agree, check all of the plumbing and look for leaks. Could be that there is still some oil burning in the flex pipe-gets there when the oil filter gets changed.

You have not yet stated wether you have a manual or not.
If so Id say most likley the clutch. My last clutch took atleast a couple of months from when I first smelt it until it was shagged.
If not, is it all stock?

when my car starts
I'm having a burning rubber smell
the smell seems to be located near the radiator and coolant reservoir, is around there not very sure.
anyone have any idea what's wrong ?
could it be a problem with the transmission?
the smell is not from my tires.
