Sohc Zc??

hi,got a 91 civic hatch, my stock si motor finally gave out at 250k miles, anyways i ordered a zc motor from this company in seattle and it looks exactly like my old d16a6, I thought i was ordering a dohc zc when i called him, but i just got it a couple days ago and it looks like the stock d16a6, i just wanna make sure this is a JDM zc motor and not some overused US motor. Anyone here know how to tell the difference between the stock engine and sohc zc?:confused:

if it's a ZC, ZC should be stamped on the block.

i dont think i've ever seen specs on a single cam ZC. does anybody know how much hp and torque it makes? i know

DOHC ZC- 130hp
SOHC VTEC- 125-127hp
d16a6- 108hp

where does it fall in that category? and what are the engine codes?

i've seen Melts SOHC ZC, it ranks between the d16a6 and the d16z6/y8. From what i've heard/read, its somewhere betweem 112hp and 125hp...no ones really sure that ive talked to.

Yea, nobody is really sure what the specs on the SOHC ZC are.
The lowest people have told me is 118hp, and thats the number I believe, so with intake and exhaust I am probably putting out like 125hp. If I want this thing to be fast, I need mpfi, but oh well.

I would be on the phone with them and asking them to take it back and give you the DOHC, but than again you should have made sure that was what you were getting. Didn't you look at a pic or anything ?
