My friends car could use a new motor, its a '96 cavalier I believe, with a 2.2L motor, NOT an ecotec, and I've got my hands on a 2.4L out of a '99 I THINK for a very very low price. Now if it would bolt right up, then I might suggest it to him...will it work?

What else is there to do? Wiring harness, computer, motor mounts, tranny? Stuff like that?

I would venture to say that you would probably save money by buying a Cavalier that already has the 2.4. With how many things you would need, you would basically need another car right there so you could rip off all the parts you would need, and, if you bought them all individually from a parts store/junkyard/dealer, you would more than likely exceed the price of a good used cavalier that already has what you want, especially since cavaliers aren't too expensive to get into anyway.
Just my 2 cents :)
