Hi guys, I just got a smokin' deal on a 1985 buik regal T-Type but I really want to up the horse power a bit. A few people have told me to ad an intercooler and that seems like the best idea. I already have to pull the heads and put a new turbo in it so labour is no problem and any help on what parts are needed for the installation of an intercooler are well appreciated. As far as I understand an intercooler can be removed from an 86/87 and then installed with some drilling for brackets and some different pipes. All information is wanted and well apreciated. Thanks, Kyle.

I have an 85 hot air as well there is a kit on Ebay for $168. its kinda hoky but it will get you started with the intercooler setup, the just upgrade to a larger one.-chris

The best thing to do is locate somebody's old turbo and intake setup off of an 86 or 87. Your heads and internals are all the same, so no worries there.

The hot air cars are totally different as I'm sure you know the turbo is mounted on top of the engine and on the intercooled cars it hangs off of the right side of the engine. Not as simple as throwing the intercooler on it and adding some tubes. I "think" the hot air cars have multiple belts and mech. fan too, don't they?
