Power window switches...HELP !

Hi all , new to this site, but i hope you motor heads can help me out.
I have a 19993 with the windows open, and here comes the rain. On the drivers side one of the switches just flip flops, the dealer gave me a different switch, said the old ones have been obsoleted. they are bigger, but i can make them work. My dilemma is, the old switch use to be a 5 pin connector all in a straight line. The new ones have a pin in each corner, and one in the middle. Which wire goes where ?
Also, my wife kept unhooking the one good switch left, and moving it to the other harness, which allowed her to roll down both windows. She said it sparked, now neither side works. Is there a relay/ fuse for these windows ? ....
Any help would be good, thanks in advance.
