I have a1/2 ton 97 Z71 that I am planing to use to pull a Travel Trailer. I also use this truck to pull heavy lo boy trailer loads and do some off road driving. What are the best heavy duty shocks for this type of use?

A lot of guys on here rave about the Rancho 9000 Adjustables, or the Billstein shocks. I plan on doing mine some time in the next couple of years and these are probably the 2 I would look at.

I just replaced mine with Rancho RSXs (the self adjusting ones). They eliminated all of the bouce that I had with the factory shocks. They are noticably stiffer on the highway, but would be well suited for the uses you described. Got mine from 4 Wheel Parts during Rancho's buy 3, get 1 free promotion.

Bilstiens are better for offroad but for towing and street the ranchos would probably be better because of there adjustability.
