Transfer case leak....

Hey, got another problem with my TSI. Its a 90, AWD with JDM 4G63T, 91 tranny and 4 bolt rear end. This Friday as I was letting the car cool off after the driving, I looked under the car and F***. There is a small puddle forming under the place where driveshaft leaves the transfer case. There is a spot on the downpipe too...

Car ran fine, and I didn't drive it since. My question is, is there any sealant that can fix this ? Just something I can add to the T-case and go around my business. Or do I have to do all of this stuff:

Where can I get the seal for it ? Does Kragen and other auto shops carry it ?

Thanks in advance.

I think I just posted about this a couple days ago. Yup, right here. (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=722944) Try the recall, but odds are you'll end up doing it yourself. There is no easy way out of it, replacing the seal only buys you a little time before it completely shits the bed.

Well I don't think there is anything wrong with transfer case.It ran fine and made no noises. Everything works perfect except for the leak it developed. I guess I will have to take the Yoke out and stick the new seal in.

You have no way to know the condition of the sleeve and yoke without looking at them. I'll never understand why poeple think they know what's going on inside of something without seeing it.

The leak is what kills the sleeve and yoke by the way, and when they are bad, they don't make noise. The yoke is also part of the reason the seal fails, which is why it is replaced in the full recall. Replacing just one part and not all of them just buys you more time, it doesn't fix anything. If the yoke is in good condition, go ahead and just replace the seal, but keep a close eye on it. If the yoke is worn, replace the yoke, sleeve, and seal together. In some cases with worn yoke/sleeve a new seal won't last a full month before the yoke kills it again.
