I have considered putting an auto in mine.
Any idea how much better my track times would be??
I am the second owner of mine. Bought it 4+ years ago with 9,949 miles.

sooo whats the verdict on that? manuals are faster than autos up to a certain amount of power? then autos are better?

Stick is fun to drive but an auto will always win the race, with all other things being equal...rear wheel HP, vehicle weight, rear gearing, etc. No human can shift as well or precisely as an automatic transmission.

yeah thats it...in a drag race u go with a auto...u want a dyno queen u get a stick... thats abou it...man just cant get that perfect shift time in and time out and as fast as the car can do it....we suck :grinyes:

It isn't power.
It is perfect shifts and launching at the perfect RPM.
Stock for stock the M6 LS1 F-Body is faster than the A4 with good drivers.
But with no motor mods and a modded A4...it will be faster and more consistent.

The ultimate solution is to buy a manual and replace your right arm with a hydraulic cylinder. Tat way you can shift as fast as an auto but with the control of a manual! (and think of all the other talents you would have  )
.... oh yeah back on topic (sorry for the hijacking)
Nope I'm not the original owner, I bought my camaro from a junkyard for $500. Eventually I will buy a new camaro though if its the last thing I do!!!

july 1984 purchased berlinetta lt brown. now nov.2007 84,000miles.this vehicle is only good in dry weather, too much weight in front,305 4 barrel carb. had to put 200lbs of sand in the trunk pit, to keep rear wheels from spinning. runs great needs, paint has 80's GM paint peel.
