umm yeah I Crashed the bike... gravel on the road carried out the rear tire and took it sideways the bike went all crazy to the outside of the turn and off i went into this ditch.. flew and took out about 20ft of local scenery including several 2 inch thick trees and some random bushes.

Needless to say the bike is pretty much totalled... but Im not, came out unhurt except for my left shoulder is sore and swollen.

hahaha this is a lesson that proper gear like helmets and riding jackets DO save lives.

Anywho, i can only type with one hand... so im going to go pop some pills. WEEEE drugs gooooood! haha kidding.

ahh screw you guys!! you dont get my parts!

bike.. well all the vital plastic (fairing, head light, windscreen) is pretty much gone... the sub frame that holds the fairing out in place is bent... but the bikes main frame and forks are still good. and most importantly the motor is fine... it started up just fine.

i think ill turn it into a rat bike.. strip it down and keep it naked.

orrr pull the motor, and make it into a 600cc, 6 spd sequential shift go-kart... how bad ass would that be? DOHC 4banger turning 10,000rpm... weeeeeeeeeee!

-The Stig-
11-04-2002, 06:31 PM
hahaha its only 600cc... its not like an Yamaha R6 or Suzuki GXR 600 that make like 120hp...

i make a mighty 64-65hp... maybe 55 at the wheel. Its heavily underpowered.

I plan on taking some pictures of the damaged bike soon, so ill put them up for you to look at so you can go... OH MY GOD.... new guys in the corner puking his guts out... belaaaaaww beleeewwwwwww... (chris farley)

I assume you've been given codeine, because that's what they gave me.. and lot's of it. Don't take lots, only take as prescribed! Take a day off the Codeine every once and a while, trust me  There are unpleasant consequences if you don't.

Is it just one break? I had a compound fracture, and it didn't heal quite right... I have a half inch lump my left shoulder/chest area. Yeah... my advice, do the physio therapy, you'll probably end up with sick tendonitis in your shoulder.

On the topic, a funny little story... When I had my collarbone broken in two places(2" of free floatin clavicle :D ), I found out that the guy who had wired my house was incompetent... turns out what was supposed to be a ground wire was hot with 220V current! You know how when you get electrocuted, all your muscles tense up, really tight? Yeah.

I'm damn lucky I'm made of stone! Otherwise I might bleed, or worse yet, cry...

-The Stig-
11-08-2002, 11:49 AM
wussy :D

nope, no codine for me just naproxen.its a anti-inflametory deal.

not sure how bad the break is, xray tech wasnt there. i go back wensday for xrays.

on the plus side im out of work for the next 4-5 weeks. its both good and bad. good cause i can just be lazy and heal in the comfort of my home playing ps2 and watching dvds. bad cause istill have to pay bills some how. hahaha.

oh well ill figure out something.

oh, one last thing my step dad might be going out to where i crashed to take pictures. i want to show off the tree thats like 2 inches to 3 inches in diameter. i think thats what my shoulder hit in mid air ... cause its broken about 2ft off the ground :hehehe:

Cbass
11-08-2002, 07:25 PM
They gave me naproxen at the hospital, but when I went to see my doctor, he told me not to take it. He said that it's a good thing for the surrounding area to get inflamed, and it helps the break set much more quickly... Talk to your doctor about this, my collarbone didn't quite heal right(probably because it broke in two places :/ ).

So what's happening with the gokart idea?

-The Stig-
11-08-2002, 08:05 PM
i pitched the idea to my mom who just stared back me.

i guess the idea of a 65 horsepower 600cc 6 spd go-kart just doesnt seem like a good idea...especially when the person whos trying to convince you has a broken shoulder haha.

ill probably salvage the bike.

gonna salvage the bike, the frame is still good so are the forks.

gonna re-do the front area where the fairing used to be. sorta like a Truimph Speed triple.

Ill be healed up long before June 03 (i hope), and the bike should be operational by then too... its on my crap to do list. it falls in right behind the Nova though, of course fixing it will cost me next to nothing so when im waiting for parts on the Nova ill work on it.

I'm 19 btw. im guess your 17-18ish since your still in HS?

damn.. 19.. and so many cool toys... i'm gonna be 18 in december. How old were you when you got your bike? And how much is your insurance? i'm probaly just gonna get a 250 or a slow 500 for first bike.. any suggestions?

-The Stig-
11-11-2002, 11:08 PM
i got my first bike at 17 a (00 Buell Blast: gutless wonder but cool). I had my bike license before my car license.

I waited till I was 18 to get license to get around the state of California's stupid policy of forcing you to take a driving school course you have to pay for since no school offers the driving portion of Drivers Ed. anymore. Plus I had no real need to get it, all my friends lived close enough and the 70 Nova wasnt working yet.

fatninja19
11-12-2002, 12:44 AM
oh.. very nice... so any suggestions on first bike yet?

-The Stig-
11-12-2002, 12:59 AM
all depends on your budget.

if you shop around you can pick-up a used buell blast which is a 500cc Single makes about 34hp. It'll do 90mph if you tuck way in.

anywho you can pick them up for about 2 grand, maybe a tad more.

Cbass
11-12-2002, 04:05 AM
Ah yes, the blast... feel the impact of power, from that single little cylinder... that reminds me of a civic I saw, with a HUGE decal that said "Honda, the impact of power!"

fatninja19
11-12-2002, 07:23 PM
i was thinking about a suziki SV650.. butt that seems pretty pricey... how many miles is it before you have to rebuild the motor?

-The Stig-
11-12-2002, 07:29 PM
on a bike????

oh my, unless you just hold the throttle wide open for 3 days you wont hurt the motor. motorcycle motors are near indestructable.

look for 00-02 SV650 Suzuki's. you can pick them up for cheap like $4000-$5000. Cause the 03's are coming out fuel injected and are the hot set up so people and dealers are dumping the n/a bikes for cheap.

Hey I got copies of my X-Rays!

i scanned them... dont pay any attention to the bootlegness of the photo. Insurance company wouldnt pay for real X-Ray film so the guy just took a educated guess and drew it on paper.

kidding. broke the damned collar bone in 2 places.... craptacular!

Aha! Just the same as my collarbone! My advice, don't electrocute yourself :p

Oh yeah, the lump is supposed to go down after about 5 years... Mine has already lost the sharp edge, so it's good :D

Well... After near 11 weeks of being wounded... I go back to work tommorow.

Project Nova re-begins ASAP. Muwahaha... Although I'm still a bit away from getting the thing going at least now I can make huge steps towards to finished product.
