I have a 96 Ciera that will not start. I was driving down the road one day and it just died, i couldnt get it started again. i checked it for codes and found that cylinder 5 had a misfire so i replaced the coil pack. Still nothing so i replaced the crank sensor. and still nothing so i am at wits end on this one, i was wondering what could cause the no start and if its possible that the computer is bad. thanks in advance for all the help.

Welcome to AF, so far it seems nothing has actually been checked out here, do you have spark, fuel pressure, injector pulse? all basic initial diagnostics.

Ok I have already checked the fuel pressure at the rail, that was good, i do have injector pulse, I do have spark, Replaced the intake gaskets, before the car stppoed running i was getting a hesitation upon acceleration, curious to wether that would have caused any issues also. Thanks

Checked to see if the spark was arcing anywhere and it isnt, tried to start it with a little starting fluid and it tried but it sounds like the timing is off.

Sounds like it jumped time. Could be a loose belt.

FYI no belt, this is a timing chain engine.
