Well I probably need an all around tune up but I was thinking of starting with the shocks. This truck was loaded heavily and the shocks havent been changed. Now its just loaded every once in a a while probably every 2 weeks. So dont really need something heavy duty. Oil was changed on a regular schedul.
Anyone that could recommend some shocks...
What else should I look into replacing?
Its a 1500 V8 4.8 2001

I would look at valve cover gaskets, timing chain, and cam. check the brake lines, frame of the truck.
then the shape that the cab of the truck is in. fenders and bed, can be replaced easy.
since its not that old body should be in to bad of shape, but just poking around you may find a few parts that mite give you problems later on. if you live in the rust belt there are body parts that go faster than others. one part that i would check over really well would be the drivers seat. after getting a lot of miles the drivers seat seams to go.
