Hi to all

What weight of oil should i use in my 1997 venture? right now it has castrol 10:30.
it has 158,000 mi. where i live summers are in the 100's and winter if u want to call it winter LOL:lol: is in the 30's sometimes.deep south Texas

That should be sufficient for your climate. I run 5W30 myself (our temps run from -25 in the winter, yes we have WINTER :lol: to around 100 degrees in the summer, so the 5W30 is good for that range.) I believe the owner's manual specifies either 5W or 10W 30 for the vans, and since yours has a little more mileage, the 10W 30 might be a little better.

I bought my van (99 Montana) from my in-laws, who purchased the van new. It had approx. 130,000 miles when I bought it from them and he used Quaker State 10W30 from day one, I have done the same. Now at 161,000 miles and it does't appear to burn or leak a drop (change every 3,000 miles), so for Missouri weather, it seems fine.
