I was trying to get a bushing out of an oil pump last week it was really in there ! Somewhere I had heard about threading the bushing with a tap ,screwing in a bolt and driving it all out with a punch or rod ... Well I tapped the bushing with a big tap I had then I found a bolt that fit, screwed it in and drove the bushing right out with a long punch ! SO EASY ! Took about 5 minutes I just thought I would pass this on and save some other guy a lot of trouble.. :iceslolan BOB

Another good way is to use a cape chisel and cut a grove in the bushing. The bushing will fall right out.

Or you could use a Oil Pump Bushing Remover (http://automotivetools.com/cgi-local/SoftCart.exe/searchlink.html?E+scstore++addtocart_page=/online-store/scstore/scpages/showcart.html&sort=SortOrder:na,Price:na&logic=And&SKU=T-0447)
May not be worth the cost if you're only doing it one though.
