I was just driving home and I noticed a red Stealth on the way back that strangely was from the same town as I am from which is kind of weird since it is a town of about 24k people and we are in a city of over a million now so I figured I would play catch up and see who it is. I see the guy and do not recognize him or his girlfriend. We are at a stop light with me behind him and we take off from a regular start. Come about 50 he jumps on it and so do I. Keep in mind we both have the same motors and transmissions. I start to gain on him surprisingly enough and by the time we reach 120mph I am about 2-2 1/2 cars on him. We catch another light further up the highway and I talk to him.

He: Nice car, is that a VR4?
Me: Nah, just a SL.
Him: Really, how did you beat me?
Me: Well we all know 3000gt's are faster haha
Him: haha, well nice ride man

I then told him about our tri-state 3/s group and he said he would check it out. I wonder what did make the difference in the race. He had an extra person but he weighed about 160 at best and his g/f was nothing short of 110. I am about 210 and had 3/4 tank of gas with a few things in the car such as a backpack. Other than that I just a have a removed resonator and a K&N intake. All in all he was a pretty cool guy.

Cool, don't see that race too often. There's about 100 different reasons which could have be the cause for a couple car lengths from 50-120, it's not that big of a difference. I doubt both your engines are in the same condition (compression-wise) for one.

Nice kill though! Way to represent the 3kgt, beat up on those slow Stealth's :D :D

Nope, I never said it was a TT, just a R/T. His car is identical to mine except its made to look like a Dodge more or less.

R/T had 24v 222hp motor while the TT R/T had 300hp and was AWD I think.

How fast have you had your Sl up to?

Yep mine and his car has 222 hp DOHC 24V 6G72. And most people with first gen 3/s's have done the free boost mod that takes about 1 minute to do and adds 20hp so that they have 320hp like the 94+ 3/s's.

Fastest I have had mine up to is 130mph and I was at the end of third gear with one gear left. The reason for shutting down at 130 was in all honesty that I was scared shitless.

Yeah 4th gear kicks in right in at about 130 give or take.
