1984 F-150 Part ID

Hello all.
On my 1984 F-150 302 auto there is a approx 3x3 inch "box" with what appears to be a capacitor attached to it's side on the RH (passenger) side of the front fenderwall . It's directly under the solenoid. Anybody got a clue what this is?

On an 84 that would be your voltage regulator.
