one thing that really pisses me off is up-badging a car. "pretending" that your car is in a higher performance bracket than it really is. i apologize for the rant in advance.i just dont like it. and i dont really know why...meh. i've noticed its definetly an evo/lancer thing, ive never seen an rs/wrx upbadged to an sti. anyway on to the race...it was a 1st gen lancer...early 2000 or so...it was the model lancer that came out b4 the evo came to the us..the one w/ the really ugly front grille. this lancer was done up top to bottom pretending to be big brother...down to those little shark fin things on the back. but it was most definetly not an evo. we went from a dead stop. by 75 i had like 2 cars on him. he seemed to have stopped trying so i let off the gas and resume my 45mph cruise. and a few minutes later i see the headlights coming up quick..i wasnt able to react quick enough so he took a car on me...but that didnt last too long i passed him by 70 and didnt let off till 95...i think he learned his lesson after that. btw this happend this morning at like 2am...or else 95 might not have been attainable or safe haha.

Good kill. Next time do the world a favor and run him off the road. LOL. The poseur movement is alive and well. There's the "SRT appearance" package that you can order for your 120hp Neon from the factory. I think Chevy might have something like that now for their base model Cobalts to appear like a supercharged SS. There's also those 15 year old Acura Integras all over the place with Type-R badging from Pep Boys and a coffee can exhuast from eBay. Definitely not an ITR. There's also a whole generation of highschoolers rolling in a beat up 240SX, sporting a gutless KA20 but wearing all the JDM badging from an S13/14. We also can't forget about those mullet wearing V6 Mustang/Camaro owners who've spent hundreds on a dual exhaust and some deceptive SS badging. Yes poseurs are slowly taking back the tuning scene.

the neon had 140hp(or so) and it was an acr not the srt, i guess u can take srt body panels and shove it on the base, but i'd have to agree, go for the real thing or nothing at all.

as for the 3000gt and stealth, anybody with a brain would know that they have two different bodies, so do all the badging you want I at least will still know the difference. an badging is different from body anyways

aww isnt the neon such a cute car, haha, and i own one too.
i knew that u could order from the factory the srt package, and apperance package, but a lot of people confuse acr with srt, they didnt look the same, one was a stripped out base model with a lil more power, whereas the srt4 was voted by 5 different magazines the best bang for the buck in under 25g catagory(that's right better than a Honda Civic Si)

^^ I have seen those and they look terrible. It is very clear they are not a SRT-4. There are quite a few people around here who misbadge there car. Althought I have to say two cars within the past month have taken the record. The first one was an early 90's Civic with partial body kit, two types of wheels and some sweet BMW badges in place of the old Honda badges. The next one was when I was following a Cavalier to a stop light and sure enough I get up there and he has the Chevy symbols taken off and in place has the Ferrari logo, including on the side. Nice kill.

That's completely different from what he's talking about. 3000GT or Stealth, they have the same power. What would be on topic is if you had said "I see a lot of 3000GT non-turbos with twin-turbo badging"....which I haven't seen more than once.

i too have seen a number of neon wannabe srt4s. sporting the dual fart cans and the little hoodscoop...but when they get on the gas...it reveals its true identity haha.

I keep seeing this rather confusing heep that is very similar to what you describe. It looks like the SXT neons on the previous page with the SRT appearance stuff but has 2 fart cans, rims and R/T badging on the fenders... no intercooler of course. Needless to say it's confusing...

I've seen a lot of guys around here replace their honda tags for acura tags or the other way around. Then they put the big fart cannon on the back and POOF! Instant ricer!

Where I used to live there where street boys who put every sticker under the sun on their car. Turbo, exhaust, bla bla bla... I always laughed. If your going to put money into a car put it into the engine, not the stickers. Sleepers are more fun then stickers.

Undoubtedly the most "unappealing" Neon I've ever witnessed with ol Joshy.

Oh man, that only reminds me off a Chrysler Voyager I saw yesterday... It had a Toyota emblem on the back, and a GT-R badge on the bottom right side of the trunk...

I couldn't stop laughing...

that's because in japan and probably the rest of the world outside the U.S, acuras are hondas. ie: integra/rsx. The integra/rsx is the only car i see with mismatched badges that people do, a popular one, too. I see no problems with it. And a fart can is instantly a ricer? http://img529.imageshack.us/img529/1310/uhohli2.gif

on topic: silentscream, nice race, is your tc auto or 5-spd?

well ric(er) you would be right about honda/acura, but you're not. for acura to launch a P1 race car for international racing, the company has to be international, Acura's from what I understand are now sold in europe and even japan. Yes i do relize the rsx was an integra.

YEP and Defineltly YES!

I just remembered something funny from back home. There was a guy that had what looked like a mustang saleen. Yellow, really nice. Turns out it was a V6 and he spent all the money in the world making it look like a saleen. So so sad. He could have at least started with a GT!

actually that make's sense, the building a saleen on a v6, cause if you didnt know, steve saleen buy's the v6 mustang's from factory to save money and shoves the v8 in it along with the suspension. so when u insure the saleen it goes by the vin and it's cheaper than an 8
