I have a friend whos about to do a fluid swap on his 98 cobra... I dont know much about ford or his trans but I was wondering what sort of royal purple fluid would be used?

I'm taking a stab at it and guessing synchromax but I just want to double check :D

thanks guys

hey, no fluid swaps...a flush is better...fluid swaps only 5 - 6 quarts...a flush can have beneficial additives and 'swaps' 10-12 quarts...see ya!

Thanks for the info! But I need to know what royal purple synthetic fluid should be used?

I have referenced the RP website for trans fluid, but I dont know much about the car cept its a manual 98 cobra with the 4.6L I do believe.

Anyone else?
I want to hear from someone who's been around on the forums like myself.

Its hard to say. The owners manual may tell you. I know the stock 5spd in my truck takes dexIII. But my 3550 takes syncromesh.
